Global Peace Photo Award 2026

I entered the Global Peace Photo Award, an international award presented in Vienna, with a seven-image series called "Faces of Peace." It was shortlisted for the Children's Peace Image of the Year, for photographers 14 and under.

For this project I traveled to different places and photographed people, animals, and moments that felt peaceful to me. What I discovered surprised me. Peace isn't just one thing. It's a dog who doesn't know what worry means. It's an old man who has made his peace with everything. It's a woman so full of music she can't stop laughing. It's two penguins who just have each other's backs. It's a stranger who doesn't speak your language but gives you a thumbs up anyway. It's even a celebration of death that somehow feels full of life. I used to think peace was the absence of something bad. Now I think it's the presence of something good — and it's everywhere, if you look.
